Tomato Cumin Soup

- 2 tomatoes - chopped
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 or 2 bay leaves
- 1 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp ginger paste
- 1 tsp garlic paste
- 1 tbsp shallot paste
- 2 to 3 sprigs curry leaves - shredded/sliced thinly
- 2 tbsp oil
- Salt for taste
Directions
- Saute, ginger, garlic and shallot in heated oil.
- Add bay leaf, cumin seeds and tomato.
- Stir till tomato becomes slightly mushy.
- Pour about 3/4 liter of water and add turmeric powder.
- Season with salt.
- Simmer till heated through.
- Off the heat and stir in curry leaves.
