Ingredients

  • 4 ounce. cavatilli
  • 1 clove garlic, chopped
  • 5 med. tomatoes, peeled, seeded and minced
  • 1 c. snipped parsley
  • 1/4 teaspoon dry oregano, crushed
  • 2 c. fresh or possibly frzn minced broccoli
  • 1 c. shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 med. onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp. butter
  • 1/4 c. chicken broth
  • 1/4 teaspoon dry basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Directions

  1. Cook pasta, drain well. In saucepan cook onion, and garlic in butter till tender. Add in tomatoes, parsley, broth, oregano, basil and salt. Bring to a boil and add in broccoli. Cover and simmer 4 min.
  2. Add in pasta to tomato mix. Turn into 8 x 8 x 2 inch baking dish. Bake covered at 375 degrees for 15 min. Sprinkle with cheese and bake uncovered for 5 min more.
