  • Thakkali Isso (Prawn And Tomato Curry)

    Ingredients

    • 450 gm Prawns
    • 50 gm Onion
    • 4 x Cloves garlic
    • 2 slc Ginger
    • 1 x Chilli
    • 2 x Tomatoes
    • 2 x Cloves
    • 2 x Cardamoms
    • 50 ml Oil sprig curry leaves
    • 1/2 x Stem lemon grass
    • 1 tsp Chilli pwdr
    • 2 tsp Paprika
    • 1 x Cm cinnamon stick
    • 1/2 tsp Fenugreek
    • 1 tsp Salt
    • 1/2 tsp Turmeric
    • 100 ml Thin coconut lowfat milk
    • 100 ml Thick coconut lowfat milk
    • 1 tsp Lime juice
    • 1 tsp Curry pwdr

    Directions

    1. Wash, shell and de-vein the prawns. Rinse under running water and pat dry.
    2. Chop the onion, garlic and ginger and slice the chilli and tomatoes. Crush the cloves and cardamoms. Heat the oil and when warm add in the curry leaves, lemon grass, onion, garlic and ginger. Cook for a couple of min then the tomato, chilli pwdr, paprika pwdr, cinnamon stick, fenugreek, salt and turmeric. Add in the prawns and mix well. Toss for about 5 min. Pour in the thin coconut lowfat milk, blend well and cook for 5 min Add in the thick coconut lowfat milk and simmer gently for 10 min. Sprinkle with lime juice and tsp. of curry pwdr before serving.
