Ingredients

  • 1 pound minced dates
  • 1 pound glazed pineapple
  • 1 pound glazed cherries
  • 1 1/2 pound white raisins
  • 1 pound minced nuts
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 2 ounce. wine
  • 4 Large eggs
  • 4 c. flour
  • 1/2 c. shortening (calls for butter)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 teaspoon baking soda in 3 tbsp. lowfat milk

Directions

  1. Mix minced fruit with 1 c. flour. Cream shortening and sugar. Add in Large eggs. Beat well after each egg. Add in dry ingredients alternately with wine and lowfat milk. Mix in fruit. You might need a large roaster to mix this in. Bake in moderate oven. Drop by teaspoonfuls.
