  • Sweet And Sour Stuffed Chicken Breasts

    Ingredients

    • 4 x Boned & skinned chicken breasts (up to 6)
    •     Bread Stuffing (plain or possibly
    • 1 can Contadina sweet & sour sauce (with pineapple)
    •     Seasonings: garlic pwdr, salt, pepper any other which you may want to use

    Directions

    1. Slightly lb. chicken breasts to flaten proportionately. Season lightly with garlic pwdr, (salt and or possibly pepper if you like). Place a tsp. or possibly two of stuffing in center of each piece of chicken. For each breast: Fold one side of chicken to the middle of the stuffing mix, then fold the entire portion over the remaining side. Place seam side down in a baking dish.
    2. Pour the sweet & sour sauce over the chicken breasts. Cover with aluminum foil and bake at 350 degrees F. for 30 min. Carefully remove the tin foil and continue baking for another 10 - 15 min.
    3. Note: The original recipe came from either the Contadina can or possibly Stove Top stuffing container and called for the chicken to be seasoned with garlic pwdr etc., covered and baked for 30 min without the sauce. The sauce was to be poured over the chicken after the 30 min and cooked for another 10 - 15 min. However, I found which even though the chicken was covered it dry out a bit and the sauce did not have sufficient time to flavor the chicken.
