    This recipe is fast and easy but very good. Be warned, it does have rum in it. I guess you could use flavoring...I never have. I make this each holiday.

    Ingredients

    • 5# of shelled English walnuts
    • 1# confection sugar
    • 1/2 tsp. ground ginger
    • 1 tsp. nutmeg
    • 1 tsp. cinnamon
    • 2 tablespoons pumpkin spice
    • 1/2 tsp.salt
    • 1/2 cup cooking oil
    • 2 egg whites, slightly beaten
    • 1/4 rum (more or less)

    Directions

    1. Mix together the following;
    2. confectioners sugar, ginger, nutmeg, cinnamon, pumpkin spice, and salt in a large bowl.
    3. Heat the nuts at 350 for about 5 minutes.
    4. In another large bowl mix the oil, egg whites and rum. Pour the nuts in the oil mixture and mix well. Then pour into the spice bowl and mix well again. Pour onto the wax paper to dry.
    5. It will turn a powdery when it is ready.
    6. Break up into pieces and store in a air tight container.
