  • Southern Cornbread Dressing

    Ingredients

    • 1 x Pan Cornbread
    • 8 slc white bread, toasted
    • 1 x Onion, Minced
    • 2 x Ribs celery, Minced
    • 2 x Large eggs, hard Boiled
    • 4 x Large eggs, slightly beaten
    • 3 c. To 4 c chicken/turkey broth
    • 1/2 stk margarine
    • 1 Tbsp. Crumbled sage leaves
    •     Salt
    •     Pepper
    • 1 1/2 c. White self-rising cornmeal
    • 3/4 c. Flour
    • 1 x Egg, slightly beaten
    • 1 c. Buttermilk

    Directions

    1. DRESSING: Crumble cornbread and toasted bread in a large bowl. Add in onion, minced boiled egg and minced celery. Add in boiling broth to mix. Add in crumbled sage leaves. Salt and pepper to taste. Add in raw Large eggs and melted margarine. Blend well. Pour into a buttered baking dish and bake at 425 degrees for 20 to 30 min. CORNBREAD: Mix cornmeal, flour, Large eggs, and buttermilk in a bowl. Pour into a well greased pan. Bake at 425 degrees for 20 to 25 min or possibly till done.
    2. NOTE: I like more sage, some one elsemay like less.
