  • South West Sloppy Joes

    Combination of ground beef, chili powder,cumin and garlic to make a true South West treat. Quick and easy for a week night meal

    Ingredients

    • 1 lb Ground beef (80-20 mix)
    • 1 small can chopped green chilies,drained
    • 1 cup whole kernal corn, drained
    • 2 Tbl. Worchestershire Sauce
    • 1 1/2 cups Ketchup
    • 1 small onion, chopped fine
    • 1 stalk, celery, split into 4 pieces and chopped
    • 2 Tbl. good Chili powder
    • 2 Tbl. ground Cumin
    • 1 tsp. sea salt
    • 2 cloves, garlic chopped fine
    • 2 Tbls. Olive Oil

    Directions

    1. Saute the onion , celery, and garlic until just transparent.
    2. Add the ground beef and brown. Spoon off all of the grease.
    3. Add all of the other ingredients and mix well with a wooden spoon.
    4. Return the mixture to a simmer and simmer until it thickens which takes about 5 to 8 more minutes. Be sure you leave the pan uncovered to let the steam escape.
    5. Prep some nice sesame seeded buns and spread the mixture ontop. Makes a great family supper and quick and easy. Add some potato chips and some nice crisp kosher dills and you're there.
    6. Enjoy the dish.
