Ingredients

  • 1 to 1 1/2 lbs. Hillshire Farm smoked sausage, cut into 1/2 inch slices
  • 1 (13 1/4 ounce.) can chicken broth
  • 1 tbsp. prepared mustard
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1 pound sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into 1/2 inch chunks
  • 2/3 c. onion, coarsely minced
  • 1 1/4 pound green cabbage, shredded coarse (6 packed c.)
  • 1 lg. Golden brown Delicious apples, quartered, cored and cut into 1/2 inch pcs

Directions

  1. Stir chicken broth and mustard in 12 inch skillet. Add in mustard seed, bring to boil. Add in sweet potatoes and onions. Reduce heat to medium, cover and cook 5 min till potatoes are tender. Add in smoked sausage and cabbage. Cover and cook 15 min, stirring twice, till cabbage and potatoes are tender. Stir in apple. Cover and simmer 3 min. Cooking time - 30 min.
