Smoked Sausage With Cabbage, Sweet Potatoes And Apples
Ingredients
- 1 to 1 1/2 lbs. Hillshire Farm smoked sausage, cut into 1/2 inch slices
- 1 (13 1/4 ounce.) can chicken broth
- 1 tbsp. prepared mustard
- 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
- 1 pound sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into 1/2 inch chunks
- 2/3 c. onion, coarsely minced
- 1 1/4 pound green cabbage, shredded coarse (6 packed c.)
- 1 lg. Golden brown Delicious apples, quartered, cored and cut into 1/2 inch pcs
Directions
- Stir chicken broth and mustard in 12 inch skillet. Add in mustard seed, bring to boil. Add in sweet potatoes and onions. Reduce heat to medium, cover and cook 5 min till potatoes are tender. Add in smoked sausage and cabbage. Cover and cook 15 min, stirring twice, till cabbage and potatoes are tender. Stir in apple. Cover and simmer 3 min. Cooking time - 30 min.
