Shredded Brussels Sprouts I
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lb Brussels sprouts
- 4 Tbsp. Unsalted butter - (1/2 stick)
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/4 tsp Freshly-grnd black pepper
- 2 tsp Water
- Juice of 1/2 lime
Directions
- Soak whole sprouts in a large bowl of cool, salted water to clean. Then trim and throw away ends and any bitter outer leaves. Cut each in half lengthwise, then slice thinly across width.
- Heat butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Saute/fry sprouts with salt and pepper till they start to brown. Add in water and cook till barely limp, about 4 min. (The water changes the action from sauteing to steaming.) Stir in lime juice and serve immediately.
- This recipe yields 6 to 8 servings.
