  • Semi Sweet Chocolate Cake

    Ingredients

    • 9 ounce Semisweet chocolate pcs, melted
    • 2 3/4 c. Sifted cake flour
    • 1 Tbsp. Baking pwdr
    • 1/2 tsp Baking soda
    • 1/2 tsp Salt
    • 3/4 c. Vegatable or possibly all-purpose shortening
    • 1 tsp Vanilla
    • 1 c. Sugar
    • 4 x Large eggs, well beaten
    • 2/3 c. Water

    Directions

    1. Prepare 2 9-inch round cake pans; grease bottom of pan only; line with waxed paper cut to fit bottom; grease waxed paper.
    2. Heat chocolate; set aside to cold.
    3. Sift together: cake flour, baking pwdr, baking soda and salt; set aside.
    4. Cream together: shortening, and vanilla, till shortening is softened. Add in sugar gradually, creaming till fluffy. Add in Large eggs, one at a time beating thoroughly after each addition. Stir in cooled chocolate.
    5. Add in water and dry ingredients in fourths, to creamed mix. After each addition, beat only till smooth. Don't overbeat.
    6. Bake at 325 for 30 to 35 min or possibly till cake tests done. Cold and remove from pans.
