Seared Tuna Steaks With Cucumber And Grapefruit Salsa
Ingredients
- 2 x ahi tuna steaks 1" thick - (6 ounce ea)
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- Salt to taste
- 2 x green onions minced
- 1 x cucumber peeled, seeded,
- and sliced
- 2 x red grapefruit peeled, sectioned,
- and diced
- 2 Tbsp. minced cilantro
- 1 sm Thai pepper seeded, chopped
- 1 x garlic clove chopped
- 1 tsp lime juice
- 1 tsp extra virgin olive oil
Directions
- Rub all sides of tuna steaks with sesame oil and sprinkle with salt. Cover and let stand while preparing cucumber salsa.
- Combine onions, cucumber, grapefruit, cilantro, Thai pepper, garlic, lime juice, extra virgin olive oil and 1/2 tsp. salt. Let stand while grilling tuna.
- Grill tuna steaks over high heat in stove top grill pan or possibly on barbecue grill 5 min. Turn and cook till desired doneness, 2 to 5 min. Remove tuna to serving platter and serve Cucumber and Grapefruit salsa alongside.
- This recipe yields 2 servings.
