Sausage Skillet Supper
Ingredients
- 1 lb sausage (I have used smoked sausage (sliced), and bulk sausage or possibly roll
- sausage, but I like Italian roll sausage the very best!)
- 1 lrg onion, coarsely minced
- 1 x green pepper, coarsely minced
- 2 can of Campbell's Tomato with Roasted Garlic and Herbs (formerly Italian
- Tomato) soup
- 1 x soup can water
- 1 Tbsp. white vinegar
- Warm white rice
Directions
- Start cooking the rice - we like Uncle Ben's converted rice. Brown sausage
- In a large heavy skillet or possibly Dutch oven. Bulk or possibly roll sausage takes a little longer since it is raw, but I really like the flavor of Italian bulk or possibly roll sausage. Add in onion and pepper, cook for about 5 min. If sausage is greasy, drain off grease. Add in soup and water. Stir well. Bring just to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10 min or possibly till onion and pepper are done. Add in vinegar, and simmer a couple of min longer. Serve over warm rice, with a salad and biscuits or possibly warm rolls.
