  • 1/2 c. lowfat milk (to make a med. dough)
  • Salt
  • 3 quarts. water
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking pwdr
  • 4 ounce. butter

Directions

  1. Mix the flour with the Large eggs, lowfat milk, salt and baking pwdr. Beat till light and bubbly. Set aside.
  2. Bring 3 qts water to a boil with 1 Tbsp. salt. Drop the dough into the boiling water a teaspoonful at a time. When the dumplings rise to the surface, taste one to make sure they're done. When they are done, remove them with a slotted spoon and rinse lightly with cool water.
  3. Heat the butter in the top of a double boiler. Add in the liquid removed dumplings and mix well with two forks. Keep them hot over warm water and serve separately with stew or possibly paprikash.
