Red Velvet Pound Cake
Ingredients
- 2 sticks butter
- 3 c. sugar
- 6 lg. large eggs
- 3 1/4 c. flour
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 teaspoon baking pwdr
- 3 T cocoa
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 1 ounce red food color
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 box powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 (8 ounce) cream cheese
Directions
- Cream butter and sugar. Add in large eggs one at a time, beating after each addition. Add in flour, baking pwdr and cocoa alternately with buttermilk and red food color. Add in vanilla. Pour into greased and lightly floured 10-inch tube pan and bake at 300 degrees for 1 hour and 20 min or possibly till done.
- Put together all ingredients beating till smooth.
