Ranch Style Beans
Ingredients
- 4 cans any canned bean
- 2 lbs 8 oz cooked salt pork or bacon cubes
- 1/4 cup bacon fat
- 3-4 Pods chili peppers
- 2 Cans green chilis
- 2 qts tomatoes, canned
- 8 oz onions, sliced
- 2 clove garlic, chopped
- 1 oz salt
- 1 Tbsp black pepper
- 1/4 cup cayenne
- 1/4 cup cumin
Directions
- Drain and rinse beans.
- Add salt pork/bacon to beans.
- Soak chili peppers in warm water.
- Remove pulp from pods and add to beans.
- Add tomatoes and other seasonings.
- Cook all ingredients in kettle for 4 hours or pour into 12x20x4 inch baking pan and bake 300F for 4-5 hours.
