  • Quick & Easy Biscuits & Gravy

    Ingredients

    • 1 (4-6 quart.) pan
    • 1 (10") frying pan
    • 3-4 T extra virgin olive oil
    • 2 pound pork sausage, mild or possibly warm
    • 4 c. lowfat milk
    • 2-3 c. flour
    • Cornstarch
    • Pepper

    Directions

    1. Bisquick is suggested following the directions on the label for drop biscuits or possibly use your own favorite recipe.Cook sausage in frying pan till golden (mild or possibly hot). Drain all excess fat. Pat dry with paper towels. Heat extra virgin olive oil in pan, medium heat. Add in sausage. Add in 2 cups water, bring to boil for 5 min while stirring. Add in 4 cups lowfat milk till boiling, lower heat to simmer and cover for 15 min, stirring occasionally. Add in flour (2-3 cups) slowly while stirring. Add in cornstarch for desired consistency. Season with pepper to taste.
    2. For richer gravy substitute whipping cream for lowfat milk.
