  • Portuguese Style Spicy Shrimp

    Ingredients

    • 2 lb Jumbo shrimp peeled, deveined
    • 1 Tbsp. Chopped garlic
    • 1 Tbsp. Finely-chopped seeded fresh red cayenne
    •     chilies
    • 1/2 c. Extra-virgin extra virgin olive oil
    •     (preferably imported from Portugal)
    • 1/2 c. Extra-virgin extra virgin olive oil
    •     Red warm pepper sauce to taste

    Directions

    1. In a glass baking dish toss the shrimp with the garlic, chilies and extra virgin olive oil. Cover and marinate, refrigerated, for at least 24 hrs. Preheat grill or possibly broiler and cook shrimp, brushing occasionally with marinade, for 2 to 3 min per side.
    2. In a small bowl stir together 1/2 c. extra virgin olive oil and red warm pepper sauce, to taste.
    3. Serve the warm grilled shrimp with the dipping sauce.
    4. This recipe yields 4 servings.
