Next to rice, naan -- that delicious Indian oven-baked flat bread -- is my favorite accompaniment to meat and vegetable dishes that are prepared spicy. I call this recipe pork naan only because its main ingredient is ground pork and is spread over naan, pizza style. It doesn't matter how you want this dish served: open-faced or folded like the way kids eat their pizza. Be as generous or sparse with your cheese topping and adjust the spiciness of your meat as you wish. It's a "laid back" kind of recipe, but one that you will enjoy as an appetizer, snack or main dish.

    Ingredients

    • 1 lb ground pork
    • 1 cup red, green and yellow bell peppers, sliced into very tiny cubes
    • 1/2 tsp turmeric
    • 2 tbsps soy sauce
    • 2 small Thai red or green chillies, chopped
    • Salt and pepper to taste
    • 3 tbsps Olive oil
    • 1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese
    • 4 pcs. naan bread

    Directions

    1. In medium pan, heat Olive oil over medium-high heat.
    2. Add ground pork and cook till browned.
    3. Add soy sauce and continue cooking for one minute.
    4. Add turmeric, Thai chillies, and salt and pepper to taste.
    5. Add bell peppers, mix well and cook for two minutes.
    6. Remove from heat.
    7. Take one naan bread at a time and top with the cooked pork. Sprinkle cheddar cheese over the pork and allow to melt over the warm meat.
