Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 1/4 cups veg oil
  • 1 1/4 cups sugar
  • 3 eggs at room temp
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup poppy seeds

Directions

  1. preheat oven to 375
  2. grease and flour a 10 inch tube pan
  3. in a lrge bowl sift together the flour, baking powder and salt. set aside
  4. in a lrge bowl mix the oil and the sugar, add the eggs one at a time, beating after each addition. add the evaporated milk, milk and vanilla. add the dry ingredients and mix well. stir in the poppy seeds.
  5. pour the batter into the prepared tube pan. bake for 45 minutes or until a tester comes out with moist crumbs attached. let cool for 20 min before serving
