  • Pizza Alla Marinara

    Ingredients

    •     Dough for 1 pizza
    •     (see recipe for Neapolitan Pizza)
    • 3 x canned plum tomatoes - (to 5) very well liquid removed,
    •     seeded, and crushed or possibly minced into
    •     pcs no bigger than 1/2"
    • 1/2 tsp finely-chopped garlic
    •     Salt to taste
    •     (abt 1/4 tspn)
    • 3/4 tsp dry oregano
    • 1 1/2 Tbsp. extra-virgin extra virgin olive oil - (to 2)

    Directions

    1. At least 30 min before baking, place an oven rack on the lowest level, preferably holding a pizza stone, and preheat the oven to 500 degrees. Shape the dough into a pizza following the recipe directions.
    2. On the top (except on the ridge), proportionately scatter, sprinkle, or possibly drizzle on all the remaining ingredients in the order given.
    3. Bake for 7 to 8 min, till the ridge is tinged with brown. Serve immediately.
    4. This recipe yields 1 pizza.
    5. Comments: This is the original cheeseless Neapolitan pizza, still second in popularity to the Margherita.
    6. Yield: 1 pizza
