Pizza Alla Marinara
Ingredients
- Dough for 1 pizza
- (see recipe for Neapolitan Pizza)
- 3 x canned plum tomatoes - (to 5) very well liquid removed,
- seeded, and crushed or possibly minced into
- pcs no bigger than 1/2"
- 1/2 tsp finely-chopped garlic
- Salt to taste
- (abt 1/4 tspn)
- 3/4 tsp dry oregano
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. extra-virgin extra virgin olive oil - (to 2)
Directions
- At least 30 min before baking, place an oven rack on the lowest level, preferably holding a pizza stone, and preheat the oven to 500 degrees. Shape the dough into a pizza following the recipe directions.
- On the top (except on the ridge), proportionately scatter, sprinkle, or possibly drizzle on all the remaining ingredients in the order given.
- Bake for 7 to 8 min, till the ridge is tinged with brown. Serve immediately.
- This recipe yields 1 pizza.
- Comments: This is the original cheeseless Neapolitan pizza, still second in popularity to the Margherita.
- Yield: 1 pizza
