  • Picnic Bean & Sausage Loaf

    Ingredients

    • 1 pound pork sausage
    • 2 (16 ounce.) pork & beans
    • 2 c. herb stuffing mix
    • 2 Large eggs, beaten
    • 1 c. minced onion
    • 2 tbsp. prepared mustard
    • 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 1 teaspoon basil
    • 1/2 tbsp. thyme
    • 1/2 c. ketchup

    Directions

    1. In medium fry pan, cook sausage till well done. Drain on paper towels. Crumble. In large bowl combine sausage with remaining ingredients, mix well. Spoon into well greased 9 x 5 inch loaf pan. Level top. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 1/4 hrs. (For easier serving, let loaf stand 5 min at room temperature after removing from oven.) Serve warm with grated cheddar cheese, tomato sauce, chili sauce or possibly mustard. Serve cool also, thinly sliced on sandwich or possibly salad plate. Makes 8 servings.
