  • Peppermint Stick Ice Cream

    Ingredients

    • Round peppermint-stick candy
    • milk
    • cream
    • whipping cream
    • chocolate shavings

    Directions

    1. (We make this ice cream in our Cuisinart Ice cream maker)
    2. Grind or crush:
    3. 1/2 lb. Peppermint-stick candy
    4. Soak for 12 hours, refrigerated in 2 cups milk
    5. Add:l
    6. 1 cup cream
    7. 1 cup whipping cream
    8. Pour mixture into ic cream maker and leave it running for 20-25 minutes. About 2/3 of the way through, pour a handful of crushed peppermint into the ice-cream (to add a little texture). The red from the candies turns the ice cream pink. Then, pour mixture into a container and insert it into the freezer for at least one hour.l
    9. Optional:
    10. Stir a bit of chocolate syrup into the ice cream to create swirls or serve with chocolate shavings.ll
    11. Enjoy!
