    Ingredients

    • 1/2 c. Sugar
    • 1/2 c. Firmly packed brown sugar
    • 1 1/4 c. Old fashioned oats
    • 3/4 c. Finely minced pecans
    • 1 c. Crisp rice cereal
    • 3/4 c. Flour mixed with
    • 1/2 tsp Baking soda and
    • 1/2 tsp Baking pwdr

    Directions

    1. Yield: 1 jar
    2. Layer ingredients in order given in a 1 qt wide mouth canning jar. Press each layer firmly in place before adding the next ingredient.
    3. Directions given to recipient:Empty jar into large mixing bowl, use your hands to thoroughly mix. Add in 1 stick soft butter, 1 egg slightly beaten and 1 tsp vanilla (optional).Mix till completely blended-you will need to finish mixing with your handsShape into balls the size of walnuts Place 2" apart on sprayed cookies sheetsBake 350 for 10-12 minutes til edges are lightly browned-cold 5 minutes onbaking sheet and remove cookies to racks to cold completely Makes 3 dozen cookies
