Peanut Butter Marble Square Bars
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 c. All-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/2 tsp Baking soda
- 1 c. Margarine or possibly butter (2 sticks) or possibly
- 1 c. Shortening
- 1 c. Peanut butter
- 1 c. Granulated sugar
- 1 c. Packed brown sugar
- 2 x Large eggs
- 2 Tbsp. Water
- 1 c. Semisweet chocolate chips
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Mixflour, salt and baking soda. Set aside.
- Mix margarine and peanut butter. Add in granulated and brown sugars. Mix well.
- Add in Large eggs and water; beat well.
- Stir flour mix into peanut-butter mix.
- Spread dough proportionately in an ungreased 15-by-10-by-1-inch jelly-roll pan.
- Sprinkle with chocolate chips.
- Put the pan in the oven for 2 to 3 min or possibly till chips are soft and spreadable. Take the pan out of the oven and run a knife back and forth through the dough to marbleize chocolate. Return to oven; bake an additional 15 to 20 min.
- Yield: 24 servings.
