  • Peanut Butter Marble Square Bars

    Ingredients

    • 2 1/2 c. All-purpose flour
    • 1/2 tsp Salt
    • 1/2 tsp Baking soda
    • 1 c. Margarine or possibly butter (2 sticks) or possibly
    • 1 c. Shortening
    • 1 c. Peanut butter
    • 1 c. Granulated sugar
    • 1 c. Packed brown sugar
    • 2 x Large eggs
    • 2 Tbsp. Water
    • 1 c. Semisweet chocolate chips

    Directions

    1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Mixflour, salt and baking soda. Set aside.
    2. Mix margarine and peanut butter. Add in granulated and brown sugars. Mix well.
    3. Add in Large eggs and water; beat well.
    4. Stir flour mix into peanut-butter mix.
    5. Spread dough proportionately in an ungreased 15-by-10-by-1-inch jelly-roll pan.
    6. Sprinkle with chocolate chips.
    7. Put the pan in the oven for 2 to 3 min or possibly till chips are soft and spreadable. Take the pan out of the oven and run a knife back and forth through the dough to marbleize chocolate. Return to oven; bake an additional 15 to 20 min.
    8. Yield: 24 servings.
