Orange Phirni
Ingredients
- 500 gm Rice
- 3 x Oranges
- 1 lt Lowfat milk
- 300 gm Sugar
- 1/2 tsp Orange essence, (2 ml.)
- A handful of mixed dry fruits, minced, for garnishing
- 1 sht silver varakh.
Directions
- Using citrus juicer, extract orange juice and keep aside. 2. Wash and soak the rice for half an hour. Drain out the water. Grind the rice to a fine paste. Bring the lowfat milk to a boil. Add in the rice paste and keep stirring constantly. Cook until done and the lowfat milk it thick. Add in sugar and stir well.
- When cold, add in orange juice and orange essence and mix well. Set in clay pots. Garnish with minced dry fruits. Decorate with silver foil. Serve chilled.
