Directions
- Soak beans overnight or for 4 hours changing water every 35 to 45 minutes.
- Add beans, ham hocks, and salt to water, bring to boil then reduce medium low for 2 to 3 hours.
- Remove ham hock cut meat off bone and return to pot.
- Stir in tomato and brown sugar then blend and cook 1 more hour.
