Ingredients

  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp dried marjoram
  • 1 tsp thyme
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp ground cloves
  • 1 tsp ground mace (optional)
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp dried savory
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper

Directions

  1. Measure out all ingredients in a small bowl. Use a funnel to place into a re-purposed salt shaker. I use this recipe for everyday cooking, so I make a larger amount. You can add this to extra virgin olive oil and allow to marinate for at least two hours on your meats. I use enough EVOO to coat the meat, no more. Sprinkle both sides of meat generously with Herb blend and refrigerate. About every half hour, turn meat. Enjoy the meat any way you like to cook it; grilled, broiled, baked, or fried (no additional oil. Use a small amount of water for extra juiciness). Allow water to cook off and brown meat. Turn and add another small amount of water and repeat. Meat will be juicy and well seasoned.
