New Yorker Pita Sandwich
Ingredients
- 3/4 lb Boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1/4" strips
- 1/2 c. Minced onion
- 1/2 c. Green bell pepper strips
- 1 Tbsp. Vegetable oil
- 1 can HEINZ Vegetarian Beans in Tomato Sauce
- 2 Tbsp. HEINZ Horseradish Sauce
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- ds Black pepper
- 4 x Pocket pita breads (5" dia)
- 8 slc Tomato
- Leaf lettuce
Directions
- In skillet, saute/fry chicken, onion and green pepper in oil till vegetables are tender-crisp and chicken is tender. Stir in beans, horseradish sauce, salt and pepper. Simmer 5 min to blend flavors. Cut pitas in half and tuck 1 tomato slice and lettuce into each half. Fill each with about 1/3 c. bean mix.
- Makes 4 servings (about 3 c. mix)
