Ingredients

  • 3 or possibly 4 lbs. spareribs (pork)
  • 1 lg. onion, sliced and made into rings
  • Garlic salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • 1 pound box brown sugar
  • Broiler pan, lined with aluminum foil and sprayed with Pam

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 425 degrees. Place ribs upside down on broiler pan; sprinkle with garlic salt and pepper. Distribute onion rings over ribs. Sprinkle 1/2 box (or possibly less, if you like) brown sugar over ribs and onions. Add in water to pan to cover bottom of pan (beer may be used in place of water). Bake in warm oven for 30 min.
  2. Turn ribs right side up and sprinkle with remaining sugar (less, if you like). Bake for an additional 30 min or possibly till toasty brown. Adjust heat if browning too quickly or possibly not browning sufficient. Beef ribs can also be used, but cook slower and longer to be sure they are tender.
