Ingredients

  • 1 c. butter
  • 1 c. dark brown sugar, well packed
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 c. dark molasses
  • 1/2 c. nonfat dry lowfat milk solids
  • 2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon grnd cloves
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon grnd ginger
  • 1/4 c. wheat germ
  • 2 1/4 c. all-purpose flour

Directions

  1. Cream butter and brown sugar till smooth and light. Beat in egg till fluffy. Add in molasses and dry lowfat milk; beat well. Blend in soda, salt, cloves, cinnamon, ginger, and wheat germ; beat 1 minute. Stir in flour till blended. Using 1/3 c. dough for each cookie, form dough into round balls. Roll in granulated sugar; place on well-greased cookie sheet. Sprinkle with few drops of water. Bake at 375 degrees for 14 min. Cold on rack. (Cookies freeze beautifully.) Makes 15 cookies.
