Middle Eastern Falafel Sandwiches
Ingredients
- 1/4 c. FINE BULGHUR SOAKED IN Warm WATER TO COVER
- 2 c. COOKED GARBANZOS (MAY BE CANNED, BUT Liquid removed, RESERVE LIQUID)
- 2 x CLOVES GARLIC
- 3 Tbsp. BREAD CRUMBS
- 1 x EGG
- 1/2 tsp SALT
- 1/2 tsp CUMIN
- 1/4 tsp TURMERIC
- 1/4 tsp CORIANDER
- 1/8 tsp BLACK PEPPER
- 1/8 tsp CAYENNE
- 1 Tbsp. PARSLEY, FRESH
- 1/2 tsp MARJORAM
- 1 1/4 tsp PAPRIKA
- 1/4 tsp THYME
- 1/2 x ONION
Directions
- Combine all ingredients in food processor or possibly blender and whirl till smooth. Chill. Shape into small patties. Saute/fry in non-stick pan sprayed with Pam till lightly browned on both sides. May also be sprayed with Pam and baked at 350' till lightly browned. Serve in split pita bread with taratour sauce and relish.
