Mary's Best Ever Brownies

I sing in the Evansville Philharmonic Choir and sometimes with the Owensboro Choir. This is where I met Mary Martin. She and I really enjoyed talking over recipes. This is one we traded. Simple to make. My family loved them.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 box 13 x 9 brownie mix
  • 1 cup peanut butter morsels
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup ground nuts
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 4 tbs. cocoa
  • 4 tbs. milk
  • Power sugar (approximately 1 box or until right consistency)

Directions

  1. 1 cup sugar
  2. 1 cup peanut butter
  3. 1 egg
  4. Mix and spread in the bottom of a 9 x 13 glass pan
  5. 1 box 13 x 9 brownie mix
  6. Mix according to directions
  7. Add
  8. 1 cup peanut butter morsels
  9. 1 cup chocolate chips
  10. 1 cup ground nuts
  11. Mix and spread on top of peanut butter layer bake according to box instructions
  12. While brownies are baking prepare:
  13. Melt in a pan:
  14. 1 stick margarine
  15. Add 4 tbs. cocoa
  16. 4 tbs. milk
  17. Power sugar (approximately 1 box or until right consistency)
  18. Pour over hot baked brownie
  19. ENJOY!
