Maple Syrup Barbecue Sauce
Ingredients
- 1 c. maple syrup
- 1 c. ketchup
- 1 c. finely minced onion
- 1/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/4 c. apple cider vinegar
- 1/4 c. lemon juice
- 1/4 c. water
- 2 Tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
- 2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tsp chopped garlic
- 2 tsp grated lemon peel
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp warm sauce -- (or possibly more to taste) Combine all ingredients in a saucepan.
Directions
- Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer 20 min. Cold.
- Pour mix into container of an electric blender; process till smooth.
- Chill sauce up to one month. Great on chicken.
- Yield: about 3 1/2cups (about 14 servings).
