  • Kirmizi Mercimek Koftesi (Red Lentil Burgers)

    Ingredients

    • (Red Lentil Burgers)
    • 1 c. red lentils
    • 1 1/2 c. warm water
    • 1 x vegetable bouillon cube
    • 1/4 c. fresh, minced parsley
    • 3 x cloves garlic, chopped
    • 1 lrg onion, finely chopped
    • 1 Tbsp. cumin
    • 1 tsp crushed red pepper corn flour for binding cooking spray or possibly oil

    Directions

    1. Boil the lentils with the bouillon and water. When the lentils are cooked, all the water should be absorbed. If the lentils are watery, let them sit to absorb the rest of the moisture. When the lentils are cooked and relatively cooled, add in the parsley, garlic, onion, and spices. If the mix is watery, add in some corn flourto bind the ingredients.
    2. Shape the lentils into patties and broil in oven or possibly fry in skillet. Garnish the lentil 'kofte' like you would a burger.
    3. Serves: 4
