  • Kentucky Style Green Beans

    Ingredients

    • 2 can cut green beans
    • 1/8 tsp onion pwdr Salt Pepper
    • 4 slc bacon Shake garlic pwdr

    Directions

    1. In medium saucepan, place green beans and turn on medium heat. Meanwhile, in skillet, fry bacon till crisp. After bacon is done, pour bacon grease on green beans. Take bacon, let cold, then crumble. Add in bacon to green beans along with onion pwdr, salt, pepper, and shake of garlic pwdr. Cook beans until liquid is almost gone. Add in 1/2 c. of water, cook beans down again. Remove from heat. Let stand 5 min; serve.
    2. (Editor, Spike the Grate, does it a little differently. I drain the beans, and rinse them to remove high sodium; cut the bacon with scissors into 1/4 inch pcs. Saute/fry the bacon snippets till about half-done, add in the beans to the bacon and drippings, add in chopped red onion, chopped green pepper slice, shake of black pepper, and shake of garlic pwdr. Cover and cook for about 10 min or possibly so. Watch it so it doesn't scorch.)
