    This makes a large sandwich. One sandwich is enough to feed 2 people.

    Ingredients

    • 4 slices French bread, sliced 1/2-inch to 1-inch thick
    • 4 slices bacon, cooked
    • 1 small onion, sliced
    • 2 cloves fresh garlic, thinly sliced
    • 2 slices deli ham
    • 2 slices deli turkey
    • 1 roma tomato, sliced
    • 2 slices provolone cheese, sliced in half
    • 2 slices mozzarella cheese, sliced in half
    • 2 tablespoons butter + extra
    • 1/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning

    Directions

    1. In small skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter and add the onion slices, stirring occassionally until they are a light golden brown. Add the garlic slices and let them just get barely golden brown. Remove onions and garlic to plate, season with Italian seasoning, and set aside.
    2. Assemble the sandwich by placing 1 slice of mozzarella and 1 slice of provolone on one slice of bread. Place the ham, turkey, bacon, half of the caramelized onions and garlic, tomato and top with remaining half slice of provolone and mozzarella. You may press down to flatten sandwich a bit.
    3. Heat medium-sized skillet on medium-high heat. Butter one side of sandwich bread and place in the skillet butter side down. While this is heating, go ahead and spread some butter on the bread that is facing up. Let cook for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and carefully flip the sandwich over using a spatula. Let cook and additional 2-3 minutes, or until golden brown.
    4. Slice in half and serve.
