Irish Whiskey Wings without the Whiskey
Prep: 30 min Cook: 40 min Servings: 4by Katy Leonard1 recipe>As an individual that does not drink I wanted to make an Irish recipe for St. Patrick's Day that did not have alcohol in it. This recipe was a hit with my friends. This is non-alcoholic but included in the recipe is a way to use it with the Whiskey. Ingredients
- 2 tbsp onion diced
- 2 tbsp garlic minced
- 2 tbsp ginger chopped
- 1/4 c brown sugar
- 2 tsp pepper
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 c dark soy sauce
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 c Irish whiskey
- 1 package of chicken wings
Directions
- If you do not drink, like myself I added 1/2 cup of cranberry juice and some lemon juice, along with the other ingredients listed above. To give it a little bit of kick I added some Caribbean Jerk marinade to the sauce and then follow the directions below to cook
- Mix onion, garlic, ginger, brown sugar, pepper, salt, soy sauce, olive oil, whiskey and marinate chicken in it for 3-24 hours.
- Place the chicken pieces on a baking sheet and grill/ bake them for 40 minutes at 400 F.
- serve with some green salad
