  • Honey Whole Wheat Bread Or Dinner Rolls

    Ingredients

    • 1 Tbsp. Active Dry Yeast
    • 1 1/2 c. Hot Water 105 to 115F
    • 2 x Large eggs
    • 1/4 c. Honey
    • 2 tsp Salt
    • 1/4 c. Lard melted
    • 2 c. Flour Whole-Grain Wheat
    • 4 1/2 c. All-Purpose Flour

    Directions

    1. Dissolve yeast in the water in a large mixing bowl. Let stand 5 min.
    2. Stir in Large eggs, honey, salt and cooled, melted lard.
    3. Add in the whole wheat flour. Stir well.
    4. Add in all-purpose flour gradually, beating to make a smooth, lump-free batter. Continue adding flour till soft dough forms.
    5. Turn out onto lightly floured board and knead for 10 min. Place dough into bowl to rise. Coer lightl.y with plastic wrap. Let rise inw arm place (85F) till doubled, 1 to 1.5 hrs.
    6. Turn dough out onto oiled board. Shape into 2 loaves or possibly 24 dinner rolls. Place loaves into lightly greased pans, or possibly rolls onto lightly greased sheets. Let rise till doubled.
    7. Bake at 375F; 40 to 45 min for loaves, 15 to 20 min for dinner rolls.
