  • Honey layer cake

    Traditional russian honey cake called "Medovik" with special taste of honey and considered milk.

    Ingredients

    • 2 eggs
    • 100 g of margarine
    • 2 tablespoons of honey
    • 1 tablespoon of sugar
    • 3 tablespoons of flour
    • 2 tablespoons of soda
    • 1 can (400 gr) of boiled considered milk
    • 100 g of butter

    Directions

    1. Mix eggs, margarine, honey and sugar and put it on low fire, constantly stirring, until it will boil (untill bubbles appear than stop).
    2. Make the mix cold, add soda, make the mix boil again then make it cold again. add flour and knead tough pastry.Put the pastry in warm place for one hour.
    3. Divide the pastry into 8 parts. each part should be flatten to rectangle (or kind of;)) of 2 mm thick. Bake the rectangles in owen, 180 celcius for 5 minutes.
    4. For cream boil considered milk in can for two hours, then beat it up with butter.
    5. Now you have to slur over each layer (including upper one) with cream. Please note: DON'T open the can while it's hot or warm! DON'T let the water boil away from the pot while milk boiling.
    6. Cover upper layer of cake with extra small parts of baked pastry (u can get them when creating correct rectangles from baked pieces of dough).
    7. Place layer cake that you created in the fridge for night, in order to make all layers get inpregnated with cream well enough.
    8. You can taste the cake in the morning:)
