  • Ham Sausage And Rice Medley

    Ingredients

    • 1 pound fresh ham sausage
    • 2 c. cooked rice
    • 1/2 c. onion, minced
    • 1/4 c. green pepper, minced
    • 1 teaspoon parsley flakes
    • Salt, to taste
    • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
    • 1/4 teaspoon celery salt
    • Healthy pinch of garlic pwdr
    • 1/4 ounce. can mushroom pcs, liquid removed
    • 1 c. grated cheddar cheese

    Directions

    1. In medium skillet over low heat, cook and crumble sausage till browned. Drain. Stir in onion and green pepper, saute/fry about 2 min. Add in rice and mushrooms. Sprinkle with parsley flakes, salt, pepper, celery salt, and garlic pwdr. Mix well. Turn mix into oven proof serving dish. Cover with grated cheese. Bake at 350 degrees about 15 min or possibly till cheese is melted. 6-8 servings.
    2. For saucy rice, add in 1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce, turn into casserole dish and bake 30 min at 350 degrees. Add in cheese the last 10 min.
