Ham, Green Beans and Potatoes

My grandfather made this after we had a big ham dinner using the leftover ham, he called it "slop" but it was a favorite. If you are using leftover cooked ham reduce cooking time to about and hour or so then finish with vegetables for additional half hour Ingredients
- 4 lb ham butt end
- 4-6 cups of water
- 6-8 medium size potatoes, peeled and cut in half
- 2 lbs green beans, fresh or frozen
- 1 tsp black pepper
Directions
- Trim rind of ham and place in dutch oven or lg pot, add water and cook, covered over med heat for about 3 hrs till ham is tender.
- Remove ham and debone, cut into bite sized pcs.
- Add potatoes, beans and pepper to ham broth. Simmer over medium heat till veggies are soft, 30mins or so.
- Add ham and heat through.
