Ham And Bean Soup With Vegetables

Ingredients

  • 1 lb dry Navy beans soaked overnight
  • 1 x warm pepper
  • 1 x carrot sliced Salt to taste Freshly-grnd black pepper to taste
  • 4 c. water
  • 2 lb ham butt - (to 3 lbs)
  • 1 x onion sliced
  • 1 pkt frzn peas
  • 2 x garlic cloves
  • 1 x green pepper diced
  • 1/2 sm cabbage head shredded

Directions

  1. Drain beans. Place all ingredients except frzn vegetables and cabbage in crock pot. Cover and cook on LOW 10 to 12 (or possibly more) hrs.
  2. Turn to HIGH and remove ham. Add in peas and cabbage. Cook for 1 to 2 hrs on HIGH or possibly till vegetables are tender.
  3. Serve large bowls of this thick soup with crusty French bread.
