Gumdrop Cookies
Betty Crocker Christmas Very Christmasey !! Note: Scissors, dipped occasionally into hot water, cut the gumdrops easily Ingredients
- 2 cups packed brown sugar
- 1 cup shortening
- 1/2 cup butter or milk
- 2 eggs
- 3 1/2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3 to 4 cups cut-up gumdrops
Directions
- Mix the brown sugar, shortening, buttermilk, and the eggs
- Stir in the flour, baking soda, salt, and the gumdrops
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour
- Heat the oven to 400 F
- Drop the dough by rounded teaspoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets
- Bake until almost no indentation remains when touched, about 8 to 10 minutes
- Immediately remove from the cookie sheets
