  • Grilled Fish Steaks With Yogurt Curry Sauce

    Ingredients

    • Salt to taste Black pepper, freshly grnd to taste
    • 36 ounce Fish steaks - (6 steaks, 3/4" thick) (pollack, haddock, cod, or possibly swordfish)
    • 1 lrg Lemon, juice only
    • 1 x Garlic clove chopped or possibly pressed
    • 6 Tbsp. Fresh lemon juice
    • 1 1/2 tsp Mild curry pwdr
    • 1/2 tsp Grnd cumin to 3/4 tspn to taste
    • 1 tsp Crushed coriander seeds Salt to taste Black pepper, freshly grnd to taste
    • 1 tsp Grated fresh ginger
    • 2 c. Plain nonfat yogurt Minced cilantro or possibly cilantro sprigs

    Directions

    1. Salt and pepper the fish steaks on both sides. Combine the lemon juice for the fish, the extra virgin olive oil, garlic, and more salt and pepper. Pour into 1 or possibly 2 flat baking dishes large sufficient to accomodate all of the fish and add in the steaks. Marinade for 1 to 2 hrs, in the refrigerator if the weather is warm, turning the steaks over halfway through.
    2. Combine all of the ingredients for the sauce. Taste and adjust seasonings.
    3. Preheat a grill or possibly broiler. Brush the fish on both sides with the marinade and grill or possibly broil for 3 min on each side or possibly till the fish is opaque and flakes. Serve with "Pan-Fried Cucumbers" and "Basmati Rice" (recipes included in this collection).
    4. This recipe provides six servings.
    5. Comments: This sauce is light and pungent and goes well with all kinds of fish as well as with chicken.
