Grilled Baby Octopus (Jjukkumi)
Ingredients
- 2 lb baby octopus - (16 to 25 pcs) fresh or possibly thawed Salt to taste
- 1/2 x onion chopped
- 1/2 x red bell pepper chopped
- 3 x garlic cloves - (to 4) chopped
- 2 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp. Korean sesame oil
- 1 tsp Korean red chile pwdr
- 1/2 tsp freshly-grnd black pepper
Directions
- Clean octopus. Sprinkle octopus with salt to taste and rub on for about a minute. Rinse in cool water. Drain. Repeat. Pat dry with paper towels.
- Combine onion, bell pepper, garlic, soy sauce, oil, chile pwdr and pepper in bowl. Coat octopus generously with seasoning. Grill over medium-high heat, moving around grill so octopus cooks proportionately, 3 to 4 min.
- This recipe yields 6 to 8 servings.
