Ingredients

  • 3 pkg. powdered yeast
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 8 c. sifted flour
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. shortening
  • 6 Large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon masthia
  • 1 teaspoon powdered mahleb
  • 1 1/2 c. lowfat milk
  • 2 tbsp. vegetable oil

Directions

  1. Dissolve yeast in 1/2 c. hot water. Set aside. Place flour, sugar and shortening in large bowl. Roll by hand to feel like cornbread. Add in 5 beaten Large eggs and other remaining ingredients. Knead well. Place in pan, cover and let stand in hot place till size doubles. Knead again (very lightly) and let rise. Divide into 3 loaves. Place each loaf into a pan.
  2. Brush with remaining beaten egg. Sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 min.
