  • Granny Smith Apple Pie

    Ingredients

    • 1 1/2 pkt refrigerated piecrusts - (15 ounce ea) divided
    • 6 med Granny Smith apples peeled, sliced
    • 1 1/2 Tbsp. lemon juice
    • 3/4 c. brown sugar
    • 1/2 c. sugar
    • 1/3 c. all-purpose flour
    • 1 tsp grnd cinnamon
    • 1/2 tsp grnd nutmeg

    Directions

    1. Stack 2 piecrusts; gently roll or possibly press together. Fit pastry into a 9-inch deep-dish pieplate.
    2. Toss together apple and lemon juice in a large bowl. Combine brown sugar and next 4 ingredients; sprinkle over apple mix, and toss to coat. Spoon into prepared piecrust.
    3. Roll remaining piecrust to press out fold lines; place over filling. Fold edges under, and crimp; cut slits in top for steam to escape.
    4. Bake at 450 degrees for 15 min. Reduce oven temperature to 350 degrees, and bake 35 min.
    5. This recipe yields 1 (9-inch) pie.
    6. Yield: 1 pie
