Grandma Smith's Cinnamon Rolls

Ingredients

  • 3 pkg. dry yeast
  • 2 c. hot water
  • 2 tbsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 Large eggs
  • 6 c. flour
  • Butter
  • Brown sugar
  • Cinnamon

Directions

  1. Dissolve yeast in hot water in large bowl; let stand a few min. Add in shortening, sugar and salt; mix. Add in Large eggs and 1/2 of flour. Mix well. Add in rest of flour. Mix well and cover and let rise till double. Stir down and let rise again. Roll out on floured surface. Spread butter and sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon and white sugar. Roll into log and cut into 1/2 inch slices. Place in pan and let rise till double. Bake at 400 degrees for 10 min. Let cold and spread on frosting.
